Gear6 Joins Forces with Independent Oracle Users Group and Oracle Partner Network

Showcases New Centralized Storage Caching Solutions for Improved Database performance at Collaborate07

Mountain View, CA — March 26, 2007 — Gear6, accelerating storage for real time application performance, today announced that it has joined the Independent Oracle Users Group (IOUG) and the Oracle Partner Network and will showcase its centralized storage caching approach and solutions to increase database performance at Collaborate07 booth 660, April 15-19 in Las Vegas.

Gear6 is introducing a unique solution for improving storage performance through centralized storage caching. This innovative approach applies high-capacity, high-speed, memory-based caching to dramatically reduce response times and increase I/O Operations per Second (IOPS) for existing NFS-based storage systems. Transactional databases previously constrained by the I/O limitations of disk-based storage can immediately achieve massive performance improvements that eliminate disk contention and easily sustain peak load operations without changing out any of the existing infrastructure. Key benefits include raising customer service levels by speeding up transaction times for database driven applications, reducing over provisioning requirements by bolstering current storage with added horsepower, and eliminating the need to replicate databases for analytics by allowing multiple applications simultaneous access with peak performance.

"There is a growing market and need for solutions that help customers improve meaningful storage performance measures like IOPS and response time," says Greg Schulz, founder and senior analyst at StorageIO. "In particular, organizations that deploy applications relying on transactional databases stand to gain the most from new approaches that can close the server-storage performance gap."

"We are pleased that Gear6 will be joining our user community with new solutions that address critical issues around database performance," says Ari Kaplan, president of IOUG. "We see tremendous potential in applying centralized storage caching solutions for Oracle databases."

Gear6 has also joined the Oracle Partner Network to develop and promote a range of centralized storage caching solutions that help customers quickly and easily improve database performance without requiring changes to applications, databases or storage systems.

"Gear6 has developed an innovative solution to database performance that helps simplify configurations and boost overall productivity," says Tom Shea, president and CEO, Gear6. "Expanding our partner network with IOUG and Oracle will ensure that Oracle customers have access to the latest advances in centralized storage caching."
