Memcached-as-a-Service for Blue Box Group Rails Applications

We’re particularly excited to announce today's roll out of the first Memcached-as-a-Service offering to Blue Box Group clients. We first partnered with Blue Box Group in May of last year to create such an offering specific to running and managing Rail applications in the cloud, with a private beta launched shortly thereafter. Now it's time to bring this joint MaaS solution to everyone using Blue Box Group's hosting services.

Gear6 Web Cache maximizes Memcached memory efficiency and uptime. Web applications hosted on Blue Box Group can now take advantage of the Gear6 Web Cache service to get better efficiency as well as redundancy, resulting in web site performance gains of 100x or more. And now that the Gear6 Web Cache service is fully integrated with the Blue Box Group solution, customers have seamless management and monitoring abilities in a single complementary offering. We’re making sure that dynamic, high-growth web sites can keep up with new Web 2.0 requirements by allowing you to maintain performance, support traffic growth and offer better and deeper user experiences.

And this is just the start. We’re partnering with several managed hosting and cloud providers to offer a differentiated Memcached services for their customers, as well. Last month we launched Gear6 Web Cache Server for Amazon's EC2 platform so that users of that cloud service can get increased Memcached utility, performance and ease-of-use out of every instance type that Amazon EC2 offers (from small 32-bit instances to high-performance/high-capacity 64-bit instances). Our managed hosting partners, like Blue Box Group, have asked for automated mission-critical Memcached services to increase customer performance and uptime while decreasing customer code complexity and development overhead. These services save customers time and money and provide differentiated value-added offerings for our partners to provide. A real win for customers and service providers.
