  • What is Performance?
Performance is a loaded term, and often means different things to different people. Gear6 is very focused on delivering the maximum performance to accelerate storage, and also to improve application servers by guaranteeing access to enough I/O Operations per Second so they can keep humming along.
  • Global Filesystem > Global Wait? Global file systems are an excellent solution for managing large capacity storage deployments. There are multiple advantages to having a single file and directory structure that can be centrally managed. The tradeoff is that as directories get larger, it takes longer for the file system to locate and access data.
  • Virtualmania!
As if the stratospheric rise of VMware's IPO wasn't enough yesterday, today we hear that Citrix has purchased XenSource for $500 million. We are clearly in the eye of the Virtualmania storm!
