Job Summary:

As a member of the Gear6 Quality Organization you’ll join a small dedicated team of engineers focused on developing an innovative new storage appliance. Your job will be to help build the tools and methodologies used to assure product quality and customer acceptance and to help execute the quality campaign. Your responsibilities will include:

• Be able to work with engineers to create extensive sets of regression and correctness tests (automated)
• Development automated test programs utilizing extensive knowledge of scripting languages (csh, perl, awk, cgi, etc.) and knowledge of programming languages (C, C++)
• Ability to integrate test cases into a test harness for rapid integration of new tests
• Proven ability to create end-to-end test automation for periodic tests, integrated
  with the build and deployment mechanisms of the system tested
• Management of hardware and software resources for testing
• Knowledge of system performance testing and experience with developing performance tests
• Ability to develop new test cases from product and project specifications
• Ability to create test plans for periodic testing, new products, and recurring release cycles.

Essential Functions:

The candidate will review design/functional specifications to scope testing requirements, provide feedback information, create new or update test cases. Create automated tests in Perl, C, C++ or use an internal Test Harness to reduce testing time. The test execution effort will be conducted in White/Black box environments. Interact with development teams and other organizations in the responsible areas. Perform regression test and verify bugs fixes for all software releases.

Requirements:

You must possess excellent knowledge in NFS, Linux, file systems and networking. You must have demonstrated skill in writing test scripts for an automated test tool, scripting in Perl and shell, programming in C++, C or both, and in devising and implementing new test cases. You should also have strong skills in test planning and documentation. You must have at least 5 years of experience in Software QA.
